2015-2017
Associate, Taylor Wessing LLP, Corporate Technology

My work in the Corporate Technology group focuses on advising VC funds, investors and corporates (small and large) in connection with M&A transactions and fund raisings in the technology sector.

Key clients include investors such as Index Ventures and Felix Capital, as well as startups such as Ieso Digital Health, Notonthehighstreet, ROLI and Urban Massage. I also work with a number of startups from the Entrepreneur First accelerator.

2005-2014
Associate, Jones Day, Global Disputes
2003-2005
Trainee Solicitor, Jones Day

My fee-earning work has focused on advising clients (including high net-worth individuals, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and bluechip corporations) in respect of high value commercial disputes and potentially contentious situations.

I have particular experience of claims involving financial institutions, contentious insolvency situations, fraud, shareholder disputes and gas price revision arbitrations. Details of some of the key cases that I have worked on are available here.

In addition to client work:

  • I introduced over £4m of business to Jones Day;
  • I was appointed to lead the process of selecting a panel of e-disclosure service providers;
  • I was entrusted with the role of Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (from January 2013);
  • I contributed to the development of a department "house style" and suite of pro forma documents;
  • I provided training on disclosure and e-disclosure to trainees and junior associates; and
  • I assisted in the preparation of marketing materials including pitch documents and partners' presentations at conferences.

During this period, Jones Day received a number of awards including:

  • "Dispute Resolution Team of the Year" at the Legal Business Awards in 2009 and 2014
  • "Litigation and Regulatory Team of the Year" at the British Legal Awards in 2009 and 2014, and
  • "Litigation Team of the Year" at The Lawyer Awards in 2014.

Languages

I am bilingual (English/French). I also speak good Spanish and basic German.

IT Skills

I am highly computer literate. I have extensive experience with mainstream software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint...) and can quickly adapt to new and custom IT systems. I also have specialist knowledge of e-disclosure platforms (including Clearwell, Relativity and Axcelerate). In my spare time, I enjoy computer programming and I wrote the code for this website myself.

I enjoy practising yoga, reading and developing my (basic) programming skills.
